"Lithophanes"
(Pictures in three dimension) are lighting panels that are cast from
detailed three-dimensional relief engravings. The master
mold is engraved to create a photographic like image in the cast
panel by passing light through the varied thickness of opaque
acrylic. Designs are available for insertion into Antique
Brass Table Lamps, Indoor/Outdoor Brass Porch Lanterns, Solid Oak
Light Boxes, Steel Coat Racks and Steel Silhouette Picture Frames.
Unlike lamp shades that use metal or wood opaque figures on the
exterior of the shade, Lithophanes have fine detail and no extra
surfaces to clean. Panels can be easily removed and washed, and are almost indestructible
